After the astounding success of the original Europe is my home, gathered again for the 2.0 version! New topics, new people and new experiences with the quality and fun of the previous exchange, this time with 35 youngsters from Spain, Italy, Greece, Romania, Lithuania, and Bulgaria learning about European values and heritage, how to become active citizens and influence the decision-making process at various levels, and the functioning of the EU.
What did we do?
“Europe is my home 2.0” was a worthy successor of the first installment, covering many of the topics left unexplored in the previous edition. From the beginning, it was conceived not only as an opportunity to gain knowledge, but also to increase the sense of belonging and responsibility towards Europe.
Exploring European values and heritage was a key objective. The participants learned more about history, art, and traditions from other parts of the continent through various activities and the presentations of their teammates.
The project also aimed to empower young participants as active citizens. Through workshops and discussions, they learned how to influence decision-making at various levels.
Finally, learning more about the functioning of the European Union was another key goal of the project. The participants learned more about the way EU institutions work, in particular how the decisions that affect the life of hundreds of millions of citizens are taken. This knowledge equipped them to engage with the EU and contribute to its mission of peace, unity, and prosperity..
In essence, “Europe is my home 2.0” was a transformative experience that instilled a deeper sense of belonging, responsibility, and empowerment among its participants.
